St. Peter's 47th Annual Art Show

Last Saturday, July 6th, turned out to be a warm and sunny day! The light really brought the paintings to life. After an early set-up (with the greatly appreciated assistance of my family), the booth was ready for its big debut!

The flowers from the farmers market were gorgeous!

I brought along a few new paintings from Vermont to hang alongside the paintings inspired by Delaware (these new paintings are now on my website).

We were even able to display a few paintings on the outside of the tent and the light really brought them to life.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by!

See you in August for the Rehoboth Art League Show!

Just about time for some texture

After many layers of glazing and some detail work, it's time to add in some texture. I've come to realize that it's best to take some time to look at the paintings to decide where to add the texture. I'm now in the process of looking and planning my next steps.

Painting outside again

It's sunny and warm, perfect weather for painting outside. The combination of the sounds of the stream  and the woods that surround my painting studio (backyard) allow me to dive deeper into the paintings. With one pup by my feet (and the other inside to stay cool) I'm thrilled to be painting outside again!

Fishing for Inspiration

It's feeling like summer and time to get out the paints. These paintings may look familiar, but the new details have been inspired by the creatures that gracefully swim through the rivers of northern vermont. I am truly in awe of the colors and patterns that these fish wear, and I hope to illustrate their beauty in this new series.

Created By Earthlings, Inspired by Earth

I was lucky enough to be invited to exhibit a painting at the Davis Center on the UVM campus. The show, inspired by Bill McKibben's article "What the Warming World Needs Now is Art, Sweet Art"(, exhibits works of various artists that deal with the environment, environmental issues, and sustainability. If you happen to be in Burlington, stop by and check it out. The show runs from April 16th to May 10th.

Painting once again

Its 2013 and time for a new series. Luckily over this past summer and fall I found some inspiring images. Some free time has allowed me to get back into my painting once again and it feels wonderful!

Each year I try to apply to at least a few "call to artists" that I happen to stumble upon online through various websites.  After all, you never know where they may lead. I was thrilled when informed one of my paintings had been chosen for Fletcher Allen's 2013 Vermont Artists Calendar. Here are a pictures of a couple of months from the calendar.

I received the calendar in the mail a few weeks ago and was very impressed with the quality. Thanks Fletcher Allen for including me in such a beautiful calendar!

Metropolitan Gallery in Burlington's City Hall

Thanks to the BCA I've been able to show in some wonderful spaces. Here are a few pictures of a show exhibited this past fall at the Metropolitan Gallery in Burlington's City Hall.

New Booth Display

If you've been wondering for months about what the new display looked like I'm sorry for the suspense, it was an incredibly busy fall. Here are some pictures of the RAL show with the new display, I hope you like it!

I really lucked out and the Rehoboth Art League was kind enough to place me in an amazing spot amongst incredible artists, thank you! I learned a lot just being next to them.

Thanks Tara for the lending me the materials for the new display! I'm hoping to invest in my own covers this year, I think they really help bring the paintings to life.
